Pontiac's Grand Prix Has Always Been a Show Stopper.

Mar. 15--In 1962, Pontiac introduced the Grand Prix as a special version of a Catalina hardtop. Almost completely devoid of the chrome that adorned other cars of the era, the Grand Prix arguably popularized the styling notion of understatement, elegance and "less is more."

Other features included bucket seats, a chrome shift lever, tachometer and aluminum road wheels that have become a Pontiac trademark.

It was the 1963 Grand Prix, however, that many consider to be the most beautiful ever made.
