Southwest Airlines Offers Two-for-One Fare Sale.

Mar. 20--Southwest Airlines Co. is bringing back its "Friends Fly Free" fares in hopes of filling up airplane seats for the summer, the airline announced Monday.
The Dallas-based airline last offered the promotion systemwide in 1998, said Ginger Hardage, vice president of public relations. The deal is being reintroduced to attract travelers during a down period for air travel.
"It gives people the opportunity to fly that might not," Ms. Hardage said. "It's definitely to spur travel."
Southwest was the only airline to turn a profit last year after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and a recession prompted many travelers to avoid air travel. The company...
