Two Entertainment Titans in Thailand Compete for Independent Composers.

Mar. 27--The war over music copyright fee collections is intensifying, with the country's two largest entertainment companies competing to sign up composers.
GMM Grammy Plc, the market leader, claims to have 40,000 songs from 70 independent songwriters in its catalogue. Grammy is collecting its own copyright fees, while rival RS Promotion 1992 Co heads a competing collection organisation with 20 members.
RS claims to hold the copyright to 90,000 songs from 400 songwriters. The two companies also have more than 10,000 songs each in their archives.
