Academy Sports & Outdoors to Open Second Tulsa, Okla., Store.

Apr. 3--Tulsa's second Academy Sports & Outdoors retail store opens Thursday, bringing its selection of sporting goods and outdoor gear closer to southeast Tulsa and Broken Arrow customers.
The 62,000-square-foot location at 7850 S. 107th East Ave. is on the northeast corner of 81st Street and the Mingo Valley Expressway, or U.S. 169.
Store director Jerry Barton will oversee a staff of about 75. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Academy sells name-brand sports and outdoor shoes, apparel and equipment, including such labels as Nike, Columbia, Browning, Shakespeare and Everlast. The store also offers uniforms...
