Virginia Governor Proposes Extra $9.9 Million for Norfolk State University.

Apr. 9--RICHMOND, Va. -- Norfolk State University would get $9.9 million in extra funding to refurbish classrooms and improve Internet wiring under spending amendments proposed Monday by Gov. Mark R. Warner.
Of the money, $8.9 million would be used to renovate the Robinson Technology Building, which houses graduate programs in electrical engineering and computer science.
Another $1 million would be used to extend fiber optic cables to dormitories and the student union to allow Internet access. "This would put us a lot closer to where we need to be," said Edward B. Jolley, vice president for finances and buildings at Norfolk State.
