Apr. 12--Anyone looking for a true example of "Made in Thailand" could do worse than to look at Udorn Sunshine perfume. Developed from a special orchid breed years ago, the perfume has been able to carve out a small, but respectable niche in international markets.
Financing came not from any local bank, but from the Small Industry Finance Corp, a state-agency set up specifically to help small and medium-sized enterprises.
What is more surprising to Chotsak Asapaviriya, a SIFC executive director, is that dozens of other local projects could meet with similar marketing success with the right support.
