First Amtrak Auto Train Leaves Sanford, Fla., since Accident.

Apr. 24--SANFORD, Fla.--The accident was never too far from anyone's mind.

On Tuesday, passengers and crew members boarding the first Amtrak Auto Train to leave Sanford since Thursday's deadly crash strived to make things as normal as possible.

"Of course, you think about it," passenger Carol Porter said of the accident, as she and her husband waited for the 4 p.m. departure. "But one thinks twice before getting in an automobile."

"I think Auto Train has had a wonderful record," said Porter, on her way home to Fayetteville, N.Y.
