Georgia Agency's Staff Recommends Rate Reductions for Atlanta Gas Light Co.

Apr. 26--The numbers are being crunched fast and furious at the Public Service Commission in advance of Monday's vote on new rates for Atlanta Gas Light Co.
The latest recommendation to reach the commission is from the PSC's advisory staff, which is calling for a $31.4 million-a-year rate reduction, or about $1.50 per month for the average residential customer. Commissioners were briefed on the proposal Thursday.
Atlanta Gas Light late last week scaled down a proposal for a $50.3 million rate boost to an increase of $44.9 million but has said it would like to negotiate a settlement.
