High Point, N.C., Shopping Center Buildings May Be Razed, Rebuilt.

Apr. 25--An Eastgate Shopping Center revitalization plan may require the tearing down and rebuilding of the Five Points facility in order to attract chain retailers.

High Point University has confirmed its plans to sell the shopping center site to an unidentified investor group. The sale may close as early as Tuesday.

Two area Realtors say the potential new owners of Eastgate may be able to revive the shopping center with the existing infrastructure. But they added that building a new shopping center probably would be more attractive to a major drug store or grocery store.
