Burlington, Mass., Internet-Marketing Consultancy Shuts Down.

May 3--Wheelhouse Corp., which attracted $74 million from the glitterati of the venture capital world at the peak of the Internet frenzy, breathed its last on Wednesday, venture investors and former employees confirmed yesterday.

Founded in 1999 by Frank Ingari, a veteran of Lotus Development Corp. and Shiva Corp., Wheelhouse set out to help companies use the Internet to improve their marketing, a realm that took on the fuzzy moniker CRM, for customer relationship management.

The Burlington company seemed to have the wind at its back in this crowded sector, as it raised a huge $52 million round in late 2000, despite the market's crash. Several stars of the venture business...
