Colorado Senators Pass Rural Enterprise Zone Bill.

May 2--DENVER--The Colorado Senate voted 26-9 Wednesday for a rural enterprise zone bill aimed at economic development in traditionally agricultural areas.

Sen. Mark Hillman, R-Burlington, carried HB1161 through the Senate, which amended the bill so much that the other sponsor, Rep. Brad Young, R-Lamar, will call for a conference committee to work out the differences.

Young won House approval last month only by balancing rural and urban enterprise zone tax credits so there would be no net loss of state tax revenue.
