Denver-Based Frontier Airlines Fights for Discount Travel Agency to Pull Ad.

May 14--Frontier Airlines has asked discount online travel agency Hotwire.com to stop running a radio advertisement it says misleads people about the airline's fares and safety.

Denver-based Frontier also sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Transportation supporting a complaint against Hotwire by American Trans Air, and said it may file its own complaint.

A Hotwire representative on Monday said the company will not pull the ads.

Hotwire mentions the carriers in separate ads that invite listeners to "fly a big-name airline for a no-name airline price."
