Fiesta Mart Reportedly Wants to Open in Departing Waco, Texas, Winn-Dixie.

May 16--Fiesta Mart, a Houston-based grocery chain, is interested in moving into the Winn-Dixie store on North 25th Street in Waco, according to sources.

Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. recently announced it will close its 76 stores in Texas and Oklahoma if it can't find buyers for them. It has three stores locally, and Fiesta Mart reportedly likes the one at 1320 N. 25th St.

Waco City Councilwoman Toni Herbert said she has been told that Fiesta Mart is considering a move into that store. She said her source is reliable, "or I would not have given the matter any credibility."
