University of Virginia Architecture Students Seek to Save Sanatorium Site.

May 22--CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.--The University of Virginia's plan to demolish the Blue Ridge Tuberculosis Sanatorium is being assailed by the school's own architecture students, who uncovered its potential historic importance.

U.Va., which has already solicited demolition bids through its private real estate foundation, plans to build a huge research park on the site just at the base of Monticello mountain. Monticello, which will lease part of the grounds, plans to build a visitors' center there.
