May 30--Maybe it's Tony Pearman's mostly all black wardrobe.
Maybe it's his advertising firm's design and copy flair.
Maybe it's the largely younger-than-40 staff.
Whatever it is, Access' reputation as a hip Roanoke advertising firm has garnered praise from the advertising community and, recently, a major business award.
The firm, started in 1996 by Pearman, chief executive officer and creative director, and Todd Marcum, president and copywriter, has grown from baby business to adult firm, receiving Outstanding Incubator Graduate of the Year of 2002 by the National Business Incubation Association.
