California Republicans Urge Independent Investigation into State Energy Crisis.

May 31--SACRAMENTO, Calif.--Rep. Doug Ose and gubernatorial candidate Bill Simon Jr. called Thursday for an independent investigation to determine whether state employees and the state's electrical grid managers engaged in market manipulation tactics during the energy crisis similar to those allegedly used by Enron.
The two Republicans urged Gov. Gray Davis to apply the same standards and scrutiny to his own advisers and state employees as he has to power companies.
