The people toting oversized restaurant pagers waiting for tables?

There's plenty of visible evidence that downtown Fort Worth is a happening place.

But beneath the veneer lie telling facts that demonstrate how business downtown has become attractive, even profitable, more than 20 years after Fort Worth's Bass family opened the Americana Hotel and launched downtown revitalization.

Rents and occupancies are strong. More than 2,000 residents now call downtown home. New investors continue to move in, even in a slow economy, pushing redevelopment well past the boundaries...
