Thai Telephone Company to Take Over Pager Unit.

Jun. 7--The Telephone Organisation of Thailand board has agreed to take over Shin Corporation's paging service and will begin operating by itself next month.
A TOT source said that the paging service, now operated by Advanced Paging, claimed it was running at a loss and therefore wanted to return the concession to the TOT.
The paging service under the Phonelink service brand now has only 40,000 subscribers, down from its peak of 500,000 in 1996. Its concession expires in three years.
