Eugene Sand & Gravel to Appeal Lane County, Ore., Ruling.

Jun. 6--Eugene Sand & Gravel announced Wednesday that it will appeal Lane County's denial of its plans for a 575-acre gravel mine on River Road to the state Land Use Board of Appeals.
Mike Alltucker, president of the century-old family business, said the company "has been looking at all the options ever since the county commissioners made their decision (last month), and an appeal was one of those options."
"We talked to our counsel, to our family and to our employees," Alltucker said. "The energy and commitment among the employees was especially powerful -- and that was hard to walk away from."
