Time Warner to Offer Phone Service in Central Florida.

Jun. 15--Time Warner Communications will begin offering phone service in Central Florida later this year.
The company, which has more than 700,000 local cable-TV customers, is testing the service in Tampa with some of its employees, said Brian Craven, a spokesman in Orlando.
"We expect this fall to have a paying customer launch in the Tampa division," Craven said. "And it won't get here until late fall or winter."
The Florida Public Service Commission approved Time Warner's phone-service application last year. The company will offer local and long-distance phone service via the Internet.
