Five Tampa, Fla.-Area Hospitals Get Top Rankings in National Survey.

Jun. 21--TAMPA, Fla.--Five hospitals in the greater Tampa Bay area received top ratings in a national survey released Thursday by Consumers' Checkbook, a nonprofit group in Washington.
Top scores went to Tampa General and St. Joseph's in Hillsborough County, Morton Plant Mease and Bayfront Medical Center in Pinellas and Sarasota Memorial.
The ratings were based on physician surveys, hospital accreditation reports and 30 million Medicare hospital records, said Robert Krughoff, the consumer group's president.
