Kentucky County Judge Dismisses Lawsuit against Water Franchise.

Jun. 22--Fayette Circuit Judge Sheila R. Isaac yesterday dismissed a lawsuit challenging the franchise agreement between the Urban County Government and Kentucky-American Water Co.

The suit had been filed by a group that wants the city, and not a German conglomerate, to buy Kentucky-American.

Officials from the citizens group Bluegrass FLOW (For Local Ownership of Water) say they will appeal the court ruling. Two additional attempts to stop the proposed purchase of Kentucky-American by German utility RWE AG also occurred yesterday.
