Insurance Coverage for Moonlighting Deputies Raises Concerns in Waterloo, Iowa.

Jul. 2--WATERLOO, Iowa--Police Lt. Mike Wagner is walking his rounds outside Allen Hospital Friday morning when his eyes stop on a 10-foot-tall oxygen tank.

"Whoa," he exclaims, turning abruptly to a telephone inside Allen's nearby boiler room.

Even though the tank was a good 15 feet away Wagner noticed that a small gauge on the side of the tank registers near empty.

The tank supplies pure oxygen to the entire hospital, but luckily a backup tank stands ready to take up the slack if necessary. It's not an emergency --- the backup system can keep oxygen flowing for quite a while --- but it is still a good idea to call the maintenance crew and schedule a...
