Siam Motors in Thailand to Focus on Trading.

Jul. 12--Siam Motors Group is switching its focus to trading operations, rather than manufacturing, in a move to reduce its heavy dependence on foreign technology and expertise.
"Over the last two decades, the group has paid much attention to manufacturing," president Phornthep Phornprapha said yesterday, announcing the group's 50th anniversary celebrations would be held on Sept 3 at the Plaza Athenee Hotel in Bangkok.
From now on, subsidiaries in manufacturing would have to pay much more attention to trading operations in order to cope with the changing global economy, he said.
