Jul. 18--HAMILTON, Ohio--Nearly three years after being notified that its Heaton Street metal parts fabricating facility was violating pollution control regulations, Kornylak Corp. has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $30,000.
The alleged violations were discovered during an Aug. 10, 1999, inspection by officials from the Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services, Ohio Environmental Protection Agency's contractual representative in Butler County, said Kara Allison, Ohio EPA spokeswoman.
"We've been working with the company since that time to achieve compliance," Allison said. "They have corrected the violations."
