Vice President Cheney under Fire for Business Dealings at Halliburton.

Jul. 28--WASHINGTON--Vice President Dick Cheney, who made a habit of hanging out in secure, undisclosed locations during the early days of the war on terrorism, now has a new reason for taking a low profile.

Namely, Halliburton.

While Mr. Cheney still appears publicly, touring federal facilities and raising money for Republican candidates, he has avoided questions about the Securities and Exchange Commission inquiry into the Dallas-based oilfield services company he once led.

Mr. Bush and his aides say Mr. Cheney did nothing wrong, but some analysts wonder whether the investigation will take a political toll on the Republican Party, as Democrats pound...
