Aug. 1--WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--Semiconductor manufacturer Diodes Inc. bounced back in the second quarter after enduring a sectorwide drubbing that ended a string of 44 consecutive positive quarters and decimated earnings last year.
Revenues were up 42.6 percent over the second quarter last year, hitting $29 million, up from $21 million in 2001. Shareholders saw earnings of $1.5 million, compared with $525,000 a year ago, earning them 18 cents per share, up from only 6 cents. Executives said this stems from investments made last year when the sector was rocked by the tech crunch and oversupply issues.
