Probe Begins in Worker's Fall at Detroit Lions' Ford Field.

Aug. 1--Ford Field officials suspended a painting job indefinitely Wednesday as investigators try to determine what caused a painter to plunge to his death when a hydraulic lift toppled over.

Tom Lewand, chief operating officer at Ford Field, said that construction work remains on schedule at the 65,000-seat indoor stadium, and that the Detroit Lions will host a planned exhibition game there on Aug. 24.

Gjon Gojcaj, 42, died Tuesday morning after a fall while spray-painting trusses 150 feet above the field. Workers returning to the stadium Wednesday held a 20-minute memorial service for Gojcaj on the field.
