Aug. 2--NETMOTION LANDS $5 MILLION IN SECOND ROUND OF FUNDING: NetMotion Wireless, a Seattle developer of Wi-Fi software, closed a $5 million round of funding, the company's second round.

Investors included Northwest Venture Associates, SeaPoint Ventures, WRQ, Alexander Hutton Venture Partners and Digital Partners. The company will use the capital for product development, sales, marketing and operations.

Tom Johnston, managing director at Alexander Hutton, joined the company as a director.

NetMotion recently hired Randy Tinsley as vice president of business development and Andy Willett senior vice president of product management and marketing.
