University of Texas at Dallas Hires Nanoscience Nobel Winner.

Aug. 3--Dr. Alan G. MacDiarmid, a Nobel Prize-winning researcher in nanoscience, has become a full-time faculty member at the University of Texas at Dallas.
UTD officials said the appointment is a coup for the university's new NanoTech Institute and the effort to turn the Dallas area into a national nanoscience center.
"He will leapfrog us in a revolutionary way in credibility and activity in the field," said the university's president, Dr. Franklyn Jenifer. "This is not only important from a research point, but it's also important from an economic development point."
