Aug. 7--Another major consumer-electronics player enters the Metroplex retail turf this week with a vow to dominate the high-end market and a promise to match all competitors' prices.
Ultimate Electronics will unveil six new stores Friday morning at simultaneous grand ceremonies, after "soft" openings for most of the stores, starting this morning.
Ultimate shoppers can expect the industry's largest selection of high-end gadgetry -- including flat-screen plasma TVs that retail for up to $12,000 and the latest in satellite radio, mobile video and DVD products -- plus midrange products, all woven around wide aisles and large demo rooms.
