North Arlington, N.J., Man Must Yank Baseball Web Site.

Aug. 7--Yankees fan James Frasch of North Arlington said he was just trying to put his computer skills to good use three years ago when he started a Web site called bronx-bombers.com.

On Monday, Frasch was stunned to find he had been hit with a "cease and desist" letter from Major League Baseball Properties, demanding he surrender his Web site name by Aug. 20.

The move is part of a nationwide effort by MLB to protect its trademarks and to prevent anyone from reaping unauthorized profits from its product. Most of the offending sites contain photos, team logos, and Web site names that baseball believes might create confusion about whether the sites are...
