Thai Companies Continue to Provide Analogue Mobile Phone Service.

Aug. 13--Operating an analogue mobile phone service in a market dominated by digital technology is no longer a question of whether it's worth the cost. It isn't, but as long as there are customers, companies say they are obliged to provide the nearly obsolete service.

Analogue was the only option when mobile phones were introduced in Thailand nearly 15 years ago, but its days are numbered as the industry continues to upgrade to more versatile digital systems capable of handling data as well as voice.
