Temple University Health System to Close Philadelphia Nursing Home.

Aug. 14--The Temple University Health System announced yesterday that it was closing the Elmira Jeffries Memorial Home, a 180-bed nursing home in North Philadelphia.
The nursing home, on 15th Street near Temple University's main campus, will close Sept. 13 after its 140 residents are relocated.
The closure of Elmira leaves the Temple system with one nursing home, the 538-bed Temple Continuing Care Center on Old York Road in Logan. Temple closed the Northwood Nursing and Convalescent Center on Castor Avenue in June.
Financial and patient-care pressures led to the decision to close Elmira, which in June was cited by the state for health and safety...
