Glassboro, N.J.-Based Rowan University Looking to Purchase 141-Bed Complex.

Aug. 14--GLASSBORO, N.J.--Rowan University officials announced yesterday that they are negotiating the purchase of an assisted-living complex nearly two miles from campus to serve as student housing.

Three weeks before school starts, more than 300 students who signed up for campus housing don't have rooms, and purchasing the Gardens, a 141-bed complex on Glassboro-Cross Keys Road in Washington Township, would reduce that figure by nearly half, Rowan president Donald Farish said yesterday.

"The demand for on-campus housing has changed so dramatically that we're scrambling to keep up," he said.

Farish declined to state the price of the Gardens....
