Aug. 17--Advance Auto Parts released its second-quarter earnings Wednesday, a guarantee from company executives that its financial statements are accurate. Advance Auto's stores had $792.7 million in sales, compared with $607.5 million in the second quarter last year.
Same-store sales at Advance Auto -- stores open a year or more -- were up 5 percent. The 668 Discount Auto Parts stores acquired by Advance Auto on Nov. 29 are not yet in the reported same-store base. Discount Auto stores showed a 4 percent increase in comparable store sales.
