Labor Department Says Memphis, Tenn., Firm in Violation of Labor Standards Act.

Aug. 21--The U.S. Department of Labor has gained a preliminary injunction against Alliance Media International Inc. of Memphis, better known as Towery Publishing Co., that prevents the defunct company from selling products.
Towery, which closed its doors July 17 and said it was going out of business for lack of operating funds, owes more than 50 employees two weeks' pay, according to the Labor Department.
The legal wrangling means it could be longer before employees are paid as the company works with the court and Labor Department to inventory what is left of the publishing business.
