Medical Center Looks at Vancouver, Wash., Hospice Site.

Aug. 22--Southwest Washington Medical Center appears to be eyeing Hazel Dell as the home for its proposed new hospice facility.
The hospital has purchased an option on 2.5 acres of land in the 1400 block of Northeast 88th Street. The option is contingent on receiving state approval for the $3 million, 20-bed operation, said Ken Cole, spokesman for Southwest.
The state Department of Health is considering Southwest's certificate of need application. Southwest hopes to have state approval by the end of October and to begin construction by the end of the year, Cole said.
