Thai State-Run Insurer Seeks Partners to Help Increase Capital.

Aug. 23--State-run Dhipaya Insurance Plc is seeking more strategic partners to expand its customer base and help it increase its capital.
The firm is planning to raise its registered capital to 300 million baht from 240 million to meet new requirements under the insurance law.
Managing director Charuek Kungwanpanich said the company's customer base was expected to grow beyond the current 600,000 policyholders, since the Government Pension Fund had taken a 5 percent equity stake in the insurer in march.
"We have been looking at state agencies with big client bases, such as the Government Housing Bank, for potential to provide home insurance for their clients," he said....
