Zero Percent Financing Stimulates Automobile Sales.

Aug. 23--Six months ago Darin and Maniso Harrison bought a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche at an interest rate of 10 percent.

This week, they traded that vehicle -- for another hunter green 2002 Avalanche.

With GM offering zero percent financing, the Harrisons were able to buy an upgraded vehicle and save thousands of dollars.

"We got a better model with all the luxuries and amenities, vs. a basic model and with no interest," Maniso Harrison said.

Since July automakers including General Motors, Ford, Mazda and Kia have been driving traffic into the showrooms with offers of zero interest and cash rebates.
