Aug. 27--EMC INSIDER TRADING CHARGES SETTLED: The Securities and Exchanged Commission has settled insider trading charges against an EMC Corp. engineer. The EMC employee, John Gomersall, 40, of Acton, Mass., was accused by the SEC of using insider information to profit on a stock sale. Gomersall learned from EMC co-workers that the Hopkinton, Mass.-based data storage giant was going to sign a deal with Minnesota-based Ancor Communications Inc., the SEC said. Gomersall bought 2,000 shares of Ancor stock before the deal was announced on April 25, 2000, the agency said. On the day the sale was unveiled, Ancor's stock jumped up 66 percent, and Gomersall sold for $19,596 in profits, according to...
