Victorinox to Merge Shelton, Conn.-Based Swiss Army Distributor.

Aug. 28--Victorinox AG announced Tuesday that it's purchased enough shares of its U.S. distributor, Swiss Army Brands of Shelton, that the famous knife maker now owns more than 95 percent of the company.
In the second step of the transaction, Victorinox said it will merge SABI Acquisition Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary created for the takeover, into Swiss Army. The merger is expected to be completed within the next few days.
Swiss Army, headquartered in Shelton, has been distributing Victorinox products, including the famous red Swiss Army knife, since 1937.
