Sep. 5--AMGEN DRUG OK'D FOR SALE IN BRITISH COLUMBIA: British Columbia regulators have given Amgen permission to sell its new extended-release drug Aranesp for treatment of anemia associated with chronic kidney disease.
Newbury Park-based Amgen said Wednesday it already has received full reimbursement approval from the British Columbia Provincial Renal Agency, similar to receiving Medicare reimbursement approval in the United States.
The company said it has applied to other Canadian provincial governments for similar reimbursement. Aranesp is approved for treatment of kidney disease and cancer chemotherapy patients in the United States, Europe and Australia. An application...
