Nevada Senator Pushes Internet Children's Domain Bill.

Sep. 13--WASHINGTON--Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., said he plans to move forward with a bill to authorize a government-overseen Internet children's domain despite warnings Thursday that the technology might be premature.
Ensign and Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., have introduced legislation to create a family friendly "kids.us" Internet community. The domain would be registered to operators who clear their Web sites through a yet-to-be-determined process.
Sponsors and supporters likened the domain to the children's section of a library.
It would bar access to chat rooms and instant messaging, restrict pop-up advertisements and not allow hyper-links that...
