Las Vegas-Based Southwest Gas Expects Stable Prices for Winter, Official Says.

Sep. 17--Southwest Gas Corp. does not foresee having to raise its rates this winter despite some reports that natural gas costs will jump this winter.

"We still don't see any impact or any indication that our prices are going to go up through the winter or at least probably for another year," Roger Buehrer, a spokesman for the Las Vegas-based utility, said Monday.

Other analysts also said they anticipate no need for natural gas prices to rise this winter despite a USA Today story Monday predicting gas prices could jump 17 percent this winter.
