Restaurant Cites Competition with McDonald's in Closing.

Sep. 19--Slow sales and some intense competition prompted the owner of the Taco Tico restaurant at 916 E. Crawford to announce earlier this week it was closing at 10 Wednesday night.

Kevin Ravens, the franchise owner and president of Taco Tico, Wichita, said the restaurant had been there 30 years. The company has 81 stores nationwide.

"It's not a happy thing for us, but for a practical business decision, it's the best thing we could do," he said. "The building was getting old, and we were going to have to put a whole bunch of money into it."
