Renton, Wash., Internet Firm's CEO Placed on Leave.

Sep. 19--The board of Classmates.com, one of the better-known Internet companies to come out of the Seattle area, yesterday placed Chief Executive Michael Schutzler on a "leave of absence" for an indefinite period, the company confirmed.

A spokeswoman for the Renton company would not say why Schutzler is on leave or who would take over his day-to-day responsibilities. "That information isn't available," spokeswoman Karli Overmier said.

Schutzler did not return a call for comment.
