Floating Hospital to Expand Services to Boston's Dorchester Neighborhood.

Sep. 20--Tufts-New England Medical Center will expand its Floating Hospital for Children to Carney Hospital in Dorchester, which has hired Tufts-NEMC pediatricians to oversee and revitalize its children's medical services.
Tufts-NEMC and Carney announced the affiliation yesterday. Carney, which is part of the Caritas Christi Catholic hospital network, will pay the Tufts-NEMC pediatrics group an undisclosed sum to send four physicians to Carney to treat patients and provide emergency coverage 24 hours a day.
Carney hopes the affiliation will help rejuvenate its pediatrics program. Many community hospitals closed their pediatric units in recent years as more...
