Washington Tribe's Rules Are Affecting Sale of Reservation Land, Owner Says.

Sep. 25--TULALIP RESERVATION, Wash.--Edwin Langkow, 74, bought five acres on the Tulalip Reservation a decade ago, planning to sell the land later and use the money to fund his retirement.
But after it has been on the market for more than three months, Langkow hasn't had any luck.
Langkow says buyers are wary because of a ban on residential building on the reservation passed by the Tulalip Tribes on Aug. 3. The moratorium says private landowners may only build homes for themselves or members of their families.
Even though tribal and county officials say the measure can't be enforced, landowners such as Langkow say they are feeling consequences.
