Renton, Wash.-Based Classmates.com Appoints Interim CEO.

Sep. 28--A week after placing its chief executive on leave, Renton-based Classmates.com yesterday appointed a former Lands' End and Nordstrom executive as interim CEO.
Mike Smith, who first spoke with Classmates regarding a board position, is expected to fill the CEO role for three to six months, and may join the company permanently.
"We don't know him well enough, nor does he know us well enough to make a decision" right now, said Randy Conrads, a retired Boeing engineer who founded Classmates.com and remains its chairman. "This will let him work within Classmates."
